Early Life

Coleman attended Solebury School and graduated from Duke University in 1980, which led him to decided pursuing acting as a career. He studied acting at National Theatre Institute.

Career

From 1981 to 1982, Coleman appeared as Jake Kositchek in his first major role in soap opera, Days of our lives. Coleman ever portrayed Steven Carrington, the first gay character on television, in “Dynasty” in 1982.
In 1992, he was in a short lived series Nightmare Café. Coleman also appeared in mini-series Kingdom Hospital in 2004.
Coleman’s guest appearances include The Net, CSI: Miami, Nip/Truck, Without a Trace, Diagnosis Murder and Entourage. He has also worked in Disney Channel Original Movie Cow Bells.
For his performance in Bouncer, he even won Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle award.

Personal Life

Coleman is Benjamin Franklin’s sixth generation descendent. He got married to actress Beth Toussaint in the year 1996 and they have a daughter named Tess.

Role in Heroes

Coleman portrayed Noah Bennet in NBC’s hit series “Heroes”. Initially his role wasn’t regular but became regular from the eleventh episode “Fallout”.
